FRIEDEL BACKS SPURS FOR PL TITLE

Retired American international shot stopper Brad Friedel is certain that former club Tottenham Hotspur can challenge for the Premier League (PL) title this season. Brad Friedel talked about Spurs and the Premier League title in an exclusive interview with Boyle Sports.

According to him, Tottenham Hotspur could rival the likes of defending champions Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title.

Brad Friedel is certain that Italian tactician Antonio Conte has had enough time to work with his players following his appointment as the Tottenham Hotspur manager just before the midway point of last season and that they could be the darkhorses in the Premier League title race. Conte is a serial winner as confirmed by Friedel and he won’t settle for second best as the Spurs manager.
Conte and Tottenham Hotspur have began the new season in impressive fashion with two wins and one draw in three league matches. The North Londoners are fourth on the league table with seven points from three games and they have the same number of points with defending champions Manchester City in second spot.
Tottenham Hotspur began the new season with a comeback victory over Southampton at home. England international James Ward-Prowse scored the first goal of the game in the colours of the Saints before Ryan Sessegnon replied with the equaliserfor the hosts. Eric Dier, Mohamed Salisu (own goal) and DejanKulusevski then scored for Spurs to make it a comfortable win. Spurs made it four points from two league games after avoiding defeat at the hands of hosts Chelsea in a tense London Derby affair. They had to come from a goal down twice to secure a 2-2 draw including the stoppage time equaliser from star man Harry Kane. England international Kane then made it two goals in two league games with the only goal in the 1-0 home win over Wolverhampton Wanderers.
