Friedel believes Tottenham can finally qualify in the Champions League

For the past few years, Tottenham Hotspur has been attempting to snatch a spot in the Premier League that would allow them to compete in the Champions League but they have been falling short by just a few points.

The former goalkeeper of Tottenham, Brad Friedel is certain the despite all of the previous years of being unable to get into the European competition, this season, this year is their time to finally make it happen.

“I tip Tottenham to get into the top four this season, and that’s not because of my allegiance to them, I really believe in what Mauricio Pochettino is doing there. Mauricio Pochettino has done as wonderful job with instilling his philosophy and style of play with this Tottenham team.

“It’s high energy and they’ve got a very fit group of players, and the players Pochettino has kept have bought into his system. They believe in it. I don’t think anyone envisioned the problems Chelsea have had this season, but they’re well off the pace and there’s a great opportunity for Tottenham to get into the top four this season.”

Brad Friedel is now a retired shot-stopper who used to perform with Tottenham Hotspur and marked his name in the hearts of the fans after making over 500 appearances, he also was able to cement his place in the history books of the Premier League after breaking the record for most successive games played in the Premier League with a total of 310 appearances.

Friedel did not spend the last few years of his career in the way that he would’ve wanted as the veteran player had to settle with a place on the sidelines of Tottenham Hotspur as he watched Hugo Lloris take the center stage but nonetheless, the club and the country in itself still represent something hugely important for Friedel who later went on to become the club ambassador in the United States.
