CLEAN SHEET

Brad Friedel’s latest appearance for Tottenham saw him maintaining a clean sheet throughout the entire match they played against Tromsø in the Europa League as they overcame their opponents with a final score of 2-0.

Hugo Lloris’ most recent performances has not seen him being at his very best and this may be after the demoralizing match against Manchester City some weeks ago as they lost 6-0 against the team of Manuel Pellegrini.

The Frenchman was once more chosen ahead of Brad Friedel as he was featured in Tottenham’s Premier League match against Manchester United and the shot-stopper conceded a penalty kick in the 2nd half that cost his team the triumph and had to settle with a 2-2 draw.

Taking into account all of these factors, Friedel might just be chosen ahead of Lloris in their upcoming match against Fulham.

After suffering from a surprising 0-0 draw against Everton and an even more shocking defeat against Newcastle United some weeks ago, it is becoming evident the struggle that Tottenham is facing with the few amount of goals managed to score so far in this season.

Conceding more goals than what they have scored it’s a sign that an adjustment of some kind has to be made even though having already spent a substantial amount on securing the services of Soldado, Lamela and Eriksen in summer.

Friedel said he was not concerned about their current situation.

“We create so many chances and if you see the way we are in training, the quality we have, finishing is not an issue. I fully anticipate that, at the end of the season, we will be up there among the higher goals-corers in the league.

“I really do think the goals will come. I have said it for a while now that, with the class we have, there is goals in this team.”

All that’s left is to see if the goals do start arriving for Tottenham if they truly want to challenge the top teams for the Premier League title, a boost of goals is very much needed.
